MIDDELBURG – The sporting rivalry between Nkangala TVET College campuses took centre stage at Kees Taljaard Stadium on Friday, 4 September, as staff competed during the college’s 2026 Staff Wellness Day.
The event brought together staff from the Middelburg, Witbank, Mpondozankomo, CN Mahlangu and Waterval Boven campuses for a day of sport, fitness, teamwork and camaraderie.
Held under the theme, “Promoting a Healthy, Active and United College Community”, the wellness day provided an opportunity for employees from different campuses to interact, build relationships and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
Staff participated in soccer, netball, volleyball, chess, pool and aerobics.
The competition also had a sporting prize at stake, with the best-performing teams and participants earning an opportunity to represent Nkangala TVET College at provincial level against staff from other TVET colleges in Mpumalanga.
Beyond the competition, the wellness day focused on promoting employee wellbeing, teamwork and unity among staff from the college’s different campuses.
The event’s message was captured in its slogan: “Be Active, Be Healthy, Be You.”
The winners will now have an opportunity to test their skills against staff from other TVET colleges while representing Nkangala TVET College at provincial level.
