Emalahleni — Maveli FC has claimed the Emalahleni Masters Football League title for a second consecutive year after a 2–2 draw with Kingborn on 09 November 2025.
Despite the draw, Maveli’s superior goal difference gave them 46 points, edging Kingborn, who finished on 43.
Kudzai Sithole and Emmanuel Manyaga scored for Maveli FC while Baile Mongoe and Thabang Hlatshwayo were on target for Kingborn Masters. The final was a thrilling encounter, with fans from both sides creating an electric atmosphere.
Maveli FC head coach Vincent Sithole said, “My team fought until the end. Even when I lost hope, thinking it was over for us, they kept pushing hard. We broke the record. No team has ever won this title two times in a row.”
The triumph marked a historic milestone for Maveli FC, whose resilience and teamwork have firmly established them as one of the most dominant forces in the Masters League.
Despite falling short, Kingborn Masters’ chairman Joel Mahlanya was full of praise for both teams. “Our game against Maveli was one of the most exciting matches ever played,” said Mahlanya. “Both teams were equally strong and it was truly a title decider. Even though we lost the league on the last day, I must give credit to my players and technical team, they fought a very good fight.”
Mahlanya added that Kingborn Masters would return stronger next season. “The lesson we learned is that we need to finish the chances we create. Management will sit down and see what we can improve as a team. Once again, congratulations to the champs, Maveli FC. A well-deserved victory.”
